Basic PLC Enclosure

The Basic PLC Enclosure is a small PLC enclosure that includes the following:

• Up to 4 I/O modules.
• 100% UL 508A Listed Designs
• 24VDC user Power
• 5 port unmanaged Ethernet switch
• Circuit breaker based branch circuit protection
• Individually fused outputs for control circuit supplementary protection.
• Twisted pair shielded cables for all wiring between the I/O modules and field wiring terminals.

Selection explanation:

Enclosure Type: Choose UL Type 12 for dusty environments or choose UL Type 4X for washdown rated corrosion resistant performance.

Incoming Voltage:

Choose between 120VAC input power or choose to power the system with 24VDC from an external source. When you select 120VAC input power, we will include a 10A 24VDC power supply to power the PLC and for your use with I/O. On 24VDC externally powered systems, the 24VDC available will be dependent on the supply power available. If you need more information on how this will be handled, please contact one of our talented electrical designers.

Processor Type:

Choose between “Standard” and “Motion” style PLC processors. The only difference between the two options is the “Motion” option has the capability to support up to 4 motion axis.

Emergency Stop Provisions:

When you select emergency stop provisions, the enclosure will come with:

• (1) 40mm emergency stop mushroom head push button that requires a twisting motion to reset it. (Non-illuminated)
• (1) Flush momentary blue reset pushbutton. (Non-illuminated)
• (1) 2 channel category 4 capable emergency stop relay and spare terminals for wiring of field emergency devices. The emergency stop button will be wired to these terminals and jumpered to allow the easy connection of extra field devices to the safety input circuit.
• All output digital I/O modules will have their power routed through the emergency stop relay such that when the emergency stop is pressed, the outputs will loose power.

Module Selections:

For each slot, choose the module type that your system requires.

• All digital inputs will have a power buss to feed field devices. There will be enough terminals provided so if double landed, 1 power wire can be run per device.
• All digital outputs will have a neutral/common buss to feed field devices. There will be enough terminals provided so if double landed, 1 wire can be run per device.
• All analog wiring will be twisted pair / shielded cable between the I/O module and the field wiring terminals. Note that for modules with both mV and mA configurations we will contact you to discuss configuration.
• For temperature signals. We will contact you to discuss wiring needs.
